The Examination system of the University is primarily divided in to two systems:

  1. Composite Examination System

  2. Semester-wise Examination System

Composite Examination System

For each Course Unit there shall be an Internal and Final External Examination to the extent of 50% marks each in both theory and practical. The Internal Theory Examination will be conducted at the end of the Semester in which the Course Unit is offered.

The Final external examination for theory and practical will be conducted at the end of the academic year, i.e. after two Semesters. The External Examination will consist of one External Examiner and atleast one Internal Examiner. The Final External Examination in theory will comprise all Course Units taught in two Semesters of an academic year. There shall be a composite examination comprising all the required number of sections pertaining to different Course Units or separate written examination in each course unit o a particular discipline. The Final External Examination in practical will comprise all Course Units taught in an academic year of a particular discipline but marks will be awarded for each Course Unit separately. The practical Examination will be conducted after the Theory Examination.

The total marks of, 100 in each Course Unit will be  apportioned as follows:

(a) Internal Theory Examination (Question setting and evaluation by internal Examiner) 35

(b)  Internal practical Examination (Question setting and Evaluation by  Internal Examiner) 15

(c)   Final External Theory Examination (Question setting and Evaluation by External Examiner) 35

(d) Final External practical Examination (Question setting and evaluation both Internal and External Examiners) 15

Semester-wise Examination System

  1. There shall be internal assessment in all examination of the various courses. The person who teaches will conduct the examination.

  2. The timing and place of examination and the arrangement of invigilation will be decided by Dean, The Dean, may make arrangements of central examinations.

  3. Answer papers of all examinations except those of final semester examination shall be shown to the students as soon as evaluation is completed. The student will have the option to request the teacher for clarification of any doubts in scoring, then and there, at the time of receiving the answer books. He must not take the answer papers home and must return the same to the teacher just after verification.

  4. The result of any semester shall be determined on the cumulative results of various assignments, midterm tests and final examination held during a semester. There shall be only one midterm examination in a semester. All tests and examination shall be conducted by means of written papers. No reexamination of mid-term tests shall be held. However, the weightage to be given to the various aforesaid tests shall be as follows:-

i. Assignment :        15

ii. Mid-term tests :  30
